IIT Delhi has launched a new Certificate Programme in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) Design. This six-month course is great for engineers in mechanical, electrical, automotive, and similar fields.
If you have an engineering degree or a diploma (10+2+3) in these areas, you can join. The course starts on September 29 and costs Rs 1,10,000 plus GST.
To get the certificate, you need to score at least 50% and attend at least half of the classes. You’ll receive a certificate of completion from CEP, IIT Delhi.
This programme teaches you about EV/HEV technology. It’s perfect for those moving from internal combustion engines to EVs and HEVs, or for anyone wanting to improve their skills in this field.
The course covers important topics like thermodynamics, IC engines, electric machines and drives, power electronics, automotive hybridisation, and battery design and modelling.
You’ll benefit from live sessions by IITD faculty, a Capstone project, and networking opportunities in the automotive industry. There's also an optional one-day visit to IIT Delhi’s Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) to see advanced facilities.
After completing this programme, you’ll understand how internal combustion engines work, how to hybridize and electrify vehicles, and how electric machines and propulsion technologies are used in HEVs. You'll also learn how to test and model batteries for performance, reliability, and safety.
