JEE Main 2022: Only 2 Attempts in April & May Likely for Engineering Entrance Exam, Says Report

 In a major blow to engineering aspirants, the JEE Main 2022 Exam may be held only with two attempts this year. While students wait for the NTA – National Testing Agency to release the official notification for the national-level entrance exam, speculative reports have hinted that the JEE Main 2022 may be held only in two attempts for the candidates. Reports filed by a leading media agency has hinted that NTA is mulling the idea to hold JEE Main 2022 only in two sessions i.e., in April and May as compared to 4 sessions done last year.

How many attempts for JEE Main 2022?

While complete clarity about the number of attempts available to students to appear for JEE Main 2022 will be available only after the official notification is released, reports are hinting that the exam may be limited to two sessions this year. Speaking to a leading media agency, an official from the exam authority said that last year JEE Main was held in 4 sessions because of COVID-19 2^nd wave of the pandemic. However, this year the situation is quite different and under control in terms of the spread of the disease. Therefore, the apex testing agency is mulling the idea to hold JEE Main 2022 only in two attempts.

JEE Main 2022 Attempts Curtailed due to Delay in Class 12 Board Exams

Another reason for curtailing the number of attempts for JEE Main 2022 given by the official was the delay in Class 12 Board Exams. With the majority of board exams, including CBSE and CISCE Class 12 Board Exams being held towards the end of April, the time available to hold JEE Main 2022 with 4 attempts is limited. Therefore, the testing agency is considering the plan to hold the engineering entrance exam only in two attempts.

When will JEE Main 2022 Registration Begin?

Along with issuing the statement about the number of attempts for JEE Main 2022, the official also hinted at the possible date for the starting of the registration process. As per the report, JEE Main 2022 registration process is likely to get underway by end of February 2022. Like last year, the registration and application process for JEE Main 2022 will be held virtually and will be available online via the official portal – jeemain.nta.nic.in.
