(4) 60

Solution (2)

Problem 4: Choose the incorrect statement about the two circles whose equations are given below :

x2 + y2 – 10x – 10y + 41 = 0 and

x2 + y2 – 16x – 10y + 80 = 0

(1)  Distance between two centres is the average of radii of both the circles

(2)  Circles have two intersection points

(3)  Both circles pass through the centre of the each other

(4)  Both circles¢ centres lie inside region of one another

Solution (4)

Problem 5: The line 2x – y + 1 = 0 is a tangent to the circle at the point (2, 5) and the centre of the circle lies on x – 2y = 4. Then, the radius of the circle is

(1) 3(5)^½

(2) 5(3)^½

(3) 4(5)^½

(4)  5(4)^½

Solution (1)

JEE Main Daily Practice Questions: Physics (14 January 2025)

Question 1: A pressure-pump has a horizontal tube of cross sectional area 10 cm2 for the outflow of water at a speed of 20 m/s. The force exerted on the vertical wall just in front of the tube which stops water horizontally flowing out of the tube, is

[given: density of water = 1000 kg/m3]

(A) 300 N

(B)  500 N

(C)  250 N

(D) 400 N

Answer (D)

Question 2: Assume there are two identical simple pendulum clocks. Clock – 1 is placed on the earth and Clock - 2 is placed on a space station located at a height h above the earth surface. Clock – 1 and Clock – 2 operate at time periods 4 s and 6 s respectively. Then the value of h is-

(A)1200 Km

(B) 1600 Km

(C) 3200 Km

(D) 4800 Km

Answer (C)

Question 3: A vessel contains 14 g of nitrogen gas at a temperature of 27°C. The amount of heat to be transferred to the gas to double the r.m.'s speed of its molecules will be:

Take R = 8.32 J mol–1 K–1.
