The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for JEE Main 2026. These FAQs provide clear answers about the registration process, exam rules, required documents, eligibility criteria, and session details.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Dates
NTA has confirmed the exam schedule in the FAQs:
- Session 1: January 21-30, 2026
- Session 2: April 2-9, 2026
Students must apply separately for each session. The application form for Session 1 is open until November 27, 2025.

Document Requirements for JEE Main 2026
NTA has clarified several important points about documents:
- Documents from DigiLocker are accepted and valid
- Students can upload any registration or roll number issued by their board
- For Aadhaar verification, the OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar
- A name mismatch between your Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar won't affect your candidature

JEE Main 2026 Form Correction Window
The form correction window is open from December 1 to 2, 2025. If you need to make any changes to your application, visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and log in with your credentials.

Category Certificate Rules
Uploading a category certificate isn't mandatory. You only need to enter the certificate number, issuing authority, and date. If your certificate hasn't been issued yet, you can enter the receipt or application details instead.
Exam Centre and Calculator Rules
NTA has made it clear that calculators aren't allowed in the exam. Your exam city options depend on the choices you fill during the application process. Once the exam centre is allotted, it can't be changed.
