JEE Main also known as Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) has come under the scanner when 7 persons of a private consultancy were arrested by CBI. They were arrested after charging Rs 15 lakh per candidate to facilitate admission in top engineering colleges.

As per the CBI Offical, the investigation is under process and the agency is going through records of candidates who took service from the private firm and after that appeared in the exams.

Meanwhile, the Congress Party also demanded an SC monitored probe agency to the alleged scam. On Twitter, the former Congress president said that the Centre is better at providing cover-ups. “The nation owes a fair exam to the students who prepare very hard for such competitive exams, battling difficulties of various kinds.

Among all these uncertainties & confusions, students are worried about their future. Would the NTA delay the result or conduct the exam again? What would happen to JEE Advanced?

Reports say that the conducting body is unlikely to delay results for August-September examinations. “What CBI has come across are cases of unfair means. As soon as we are informed of the candidates involved in it, we will cancel their results,”. Although, He stated that there was no leakage of examination paper, therefore the matter should not be confused with a paper leak, which usually merits cancellation of the examination.

On the other hand, experts are in favour of cancelling the JEE Main exam and conducting it again as ‘it could be an injustice to students’. But to conduct the fresh exams might take months and delay the academic schedule.
