The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the results of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main session 2 around April 20, as per an NTA official speaking to indianexpress.com. But before the results are out, NTA will share the final answer key on the official website — jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The JEE Main 2024 results will be calculated based on this final answer key. Initially, NTA released a provisional answer key and invited candidates to raise objections. After thorough examination by a panel of experts, a final answer key was established.

This year, the exam was conducted in two sessions – January and April. The April session results will include the cutoff marks necessary for eligibility for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam. Over 24 lakh candidates registered for JEE Main across both sessions — 12,21,624 in session 1 and 12.57 lakh in session 2. The final merit list will consider the best scores of the candidates.

In session 1, 23 students scored 100 percentile marks. According to NTA data, Telangana had the highest number of 100 percentile scorers with seven candidates, followed by three candidates each from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Delhi and Haryana had two 100 percentile scorers each. Additionally, one candidate each from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Karnataka also achieved 100 percentile marks in the session 1 exam.

JEE Main percentile scores represent the relative performance of all test-takers. NTA explains that these scores are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees, as mentioned in its official brochure.
