The National Testing Agency (NTA) has shared important news for candidates in the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) groups who will take the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2025. These candidates will get an extra hour of compensatory time for the three-hour JEE Main 2025 exam. This means they will have a total of four hours to complete the exam. Candidates can also use a scribe if they provide the right certificates.

The NTA made these changes because of many questions about having scribes and extra time for eligible candidates.

The official notification says, “The term ‘extra time or additional time’ will be changed to ‘compensatory time.’ This time should be at least 20 minutes for every hour of the exam for those using a scribe, reader, or lab assistant. All candidates with benchmark disabilities who can use a scribe will get at least one hour of extra time for the three-hour exam, whether they use a scribe or not. If the exam is shorter than one hour, the extra time will be based on how long the exam is. Extra time will not be less than 5 minutes and must be in multiples of 5.”

JEE Mains 2025 Schedule

The NTA has not yet announced the official schedule for JEE Mains 2025. The online application process is expected to start by the end of November 2024, but we are still waiting for the official notice. Registration for JEE Mains will happen on the official website.
