JEE Main 2027 Attempt Rules for Freshers and Droppers

Class 12 Passing Year Eligible for JEE Main 2027?
2027 (Appearing) Yes
2026 (One-Year Dropper) Yes
2025 (Two-Year Dropper) Yes
2024 or Earlier No

The candidates passing Class 12 in 2025 would have JEE Main 2027 as their last eligible year examination under the passing year criteria.

Yes. The candidates can attend in both sessions in order to perform well.

Does Improvement in Class 12 Marks Increase JEE Main Attempts?

No. Taking a Class 12 improvement examination does not affect the passing year of the original candidate.

For instance, if a student passed Class 12 in 2025 and took an improvement exam in 2026, the passing year of NTA will be 2025.

In other words, the improvement examination cannot extend JEE Main eligibility.

JEE Main 2027 vs JEE Advanced Attempt Rules

JEE Main and JEE Advanced have distinct eligibility criteria.

JEE Main 2027 implements the passing year Class 12 eligibility and conducts two sessions. JEE Advanced has its own eligibility criteria in terms of age, Class 12 and number of attempts.

Students interested in getting admission into IITs must refer to the official JEE Advanced 2027 eligibility criteria.
