JoSAA 2025 Counselling: IIT Orientation and Class Start Dates Are Out – Full Schedule Here

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the official orientation and class commencement schedule across all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Students can now check the complete schedule details on the official website of JoSAA.

🗓️ What to Expect: 3-Step Process for All IITs

According to the announcement, the onboarding process for new IIT students will be held in three key phases:

1. Reporting & Physical Registration
2. New students must report to their allotted IIT and complete the in-person registration process.
3. Orientation Program
4. Most IITs will organize orientation sessions for students — and in some cases, even for parents — to help everyone settle in and understand campus life.
5. Commencement of Classes
6. Once orientation wraps up, academic classes will officially begin as per the institute-specific schedule.

📄 Required Documents for Reporting

• ✅ JoSAA Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (also known as Preliminary Seat Allotment Intimation Slip)
• ✅ Seat Acceptance Letter generated online from JoSAA Reporting Centre
• ✅ Class 10th Mark Sheet or Certificate (for proof of date of birth)
• ✅ Birth Certificate — only if your Class 10th document doesn’t mention the date of birth
• ✅ Class 12th Mark Sheet or Certificate — for your qualifying exam proof
• ✅ Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates) — in the official format as given on the JoSAA portal
• ✅ PWD Certificate — if you’re applying under this category
• ✅ Aadhaar Card (or any other valid government ID)
• ✅ Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI/PIO card, if applicable
• ✅ Income Certificate — only for candidates seeking a fee waiver
  📌 Must be issued on or after April 1, 2024, and applicable to families earning less than ₹5 lakh annually
