Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exams: No Exam Fee for Students in 265 Drought-Hit Talukas
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced an exam fee waiver for Class 10 and Class 12 students from drought-affected talukas in the state.
The Board has instructed its divisional offices to accept online examination applications from such students without demanding examination fees from them. The exemption will be applicable to those students who are appearing for SSC and HSC examinations.

The exam fee exemption has been introduced for students from drought-affected areas. Schools and other concerned authorities have been instructed to process their online applications without collecting the examination fee.

Maharashtra Board Exam Dates 2027
HSC Class 12 Board Exam 2027 (Maharashtra) would be held from February 8th to March 16th, 2027.
SSC Class 10 Board Exam 2027 (Maharashtra) would be held from February 15th to March 11th, 2027.
Students are advised to follow the procedure given by their respective schools and Maharashtra Board for applying for the examination.
Maharashtra SSC, HSC Registration and Previous Year Data
Last year, 15,55,026 students enrolled themselves as regular candidates for the SSC examination of Maharashtra State. In all, 15,42,472 students took the exam, of which 14,20,486 were declared successful.
Regarding the HSC examination, 14,44,713 students had registered last year. 14,33,058 students took the examination, out of which 12,86,843 were successful.
265 Maharashtra Talukas Declared Drought-Affected
The lack of rainfall in the Maharashtra state has affected 265 of the 358 talukas in Maharashtra, which accounts for 74% of the total number of talukas in Maharashtra.
The decision to exempt such students from payment of the exam fee has come following a resolution made by the government on September 25. According to the resolution, there were several concessions to be provided to the people in drought-hit regions, one of which was that of being exempted from the exam fee.
