The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed medical aspirants about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2022) counselling process and about the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), state quota seats along with the NEET UG 2022 result.

The NTA declared the NEET results 2022 for over 17 lakh candidates on September 7, 2022. Along with the NEET UG 2022 results, the NTA has also announced toppers, cut-off and the NEET counselling process. It has also published the NEET final answer key PDF on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. 

Candidates who qualified NEET 2022 will have to attend the counselling process to get admission to undergraduate medical (MBBS) and dental courses (BDS) in medical colleges in India.

 NEET Counselling for 15% AIQ Seats 

According to the latest NTA notice, “The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, will conduct the NEET counselling for 15% All India Quota seats, deemed universities, central universities, including including medical colleges under Delhi University (DU) and Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical College, ESIC Medical Colleges.”

The NTA further informed that “candidates will have apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and NEET 2022 counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted. The details and schedule of NEET UG 2022 counselling will be available on the websites of the ministry of health and family welfare and medical education directorates of states.” It also advised students to visit the Medical Counselling Committe (MCC) official website, mcc.nic.in, for latest information on NEET UG 2022 counselling process and schedule.

 NEET 2022 counselling for state quota 

“For state quota and other seats falling under the ambit of States, candidates may apply to their domicile states and merit list as per state rules and based on All India Rank will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities. The counselling for Private Medical Colleges will also be conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority,” the NTA said.

 When will MCC NEET 2022 counselling start 

As per the latest notice issued by the National Medical Commission, the NEET UG 2022 Counselling will begin in September/ October. The NMC informed about the NEET Counselling while informing medical colleges that it has been decided to give the renewal of permission for those waiting 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th renewals on the basis on sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-23.”

 NEET UG 2022 counselling process 

The MCC will conduct NEET UG 2022 counselling for AIQ seats. The complete NEET counselling schedule will also be released on the MCC NEET counselling official website, mcc.nic.in. Here’s the step by step process.

  • Candidates have to complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.
  • Followed by NEET UG 2022 counselling choice filling and locking
  • MCC will declare the result and round 1 seat allotment.
  • Candidates will have to report to the allotted medical or dental college (option for free entry/exit)
  • They will also have an option for free entry or exit.
  • This will be followed by the announcement of round 2 vacant seats.
  • NEET counselling round 2 registration (not necessary for already registered candidates) and fresh choice filling for NEET counselling round 2
  • Round 2 of seat allocation will be published at mcc.nic.in.
  • NEET 2022 counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted.
