NEET 2023 Counselling: Step-by-Step Guide for 15% AIQ
After the declaration of NEET Results 2023, the NEET Counselling 2023 will be conducted in four rounds. The NEET Counselling 2023 15% AIQ is applicable to all states except Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
The NEET Counselling 15% AIQ includes the following:
- All India Quota Seats of ESIC
- 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
- All India Quota of JIPMER (Puducherry/Karaikal)
- All India Quota seats of AMU/DU/VMMC/ABVIMS
- 15% MBBS/BDS Seats of States
- All India Quota Seats of Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia)
- 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
Step-by-Step Guide for NEET AIQ/15% Quota Counselling Process 2023
Here are the steps involved in the NEET All India Counselling process 2023:
-
Online Registrations: The NEET AIQ Counselling process begins with online registrations.
-
Option Entry/Choice Filling: The MCC opens the Option Entry/Choice Filling window during this time. Candidates can provide their course and college preferences in sequential order.
-
Round One of Counselling: After the choice filling, round one of counselling begins, followed by seat allocation and reporting at the allotted institutes.
-
Subsequent Counselling Rounds: With the completion of one counselling round, the next round begins until all the available seats are filled.
Updates in NEET AIQ Counselling 2023
The NEET Counselling 2023 process has undergone significant changes compared to previous years. Previously, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducted three rounds of All India Quota (AIQ) counselling, transferring any remaining vacant seats to state counselling.
However, for NEET 2023 Counselling, there are now four dedicated rounds for AIQ seats: NEET AIQ Round 1, NEET AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Round, and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round.
Candidates can register afresh only for Round 1, Round 2, and the Mop-up Round. It is important to note that there is no provision for upgradation from Round 2. Once candidates secure a seat in Round 2, they cannot opt for a higher preference seat in subsequent rounds.
If candidates accept admission after the second round of seat allocation, they are not allowed to resign or participate in the following rounds.
However, those who did not take admission during Round 2 have the opportunity to participate in the next round. They will need to register anew for the Mop-up Round, but this comes at the cost of forfeiting the security deposit.
