NEET UG 2022 Result Today : Check Marking Scheme, Cut-Off Percentile & Other Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET result 2022) on Wednesday. The NEET result 2022 date is September 7. NTA told media that NEET result time is between 6 to 8 PM. As soon as the NTA NEET 2022 result is declared, medical aspirants can check it on the official website -- neet.nta.nic.in.

NTA has already issued the NEET answer key. Candidates could send feedback and raise grievances against the answer key of NEET till September 2. The NEET UG paper comprised -- Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Each subject consisted of two sections. Section A had 35 questions and Section B 15. Out of the 15 questions in Section B, candidates had to attempt any 10 questions.

A total of 18 lakh (18,72,341) are eagerly waiting for the result of NEET 2022 held on July 17. Over 8 lakh (8,07,541) aspirants were boys, and 10 lakh (10,64,791) were girls, and 11 were transgender.

NEET UG 2022 Result: Check Marking Scheme

As per the NEET UG marking scheme, four marks will be awarded to candidates for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. And if a question is left unanswered no marks will be added. 

NEET UG 2022 Result: Passing Marks

Candidates must secure at least 50 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. And for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Caste (OBC) category candidates the pass percentage is 40 per cent.

NEET 2022: How To Calculate Marks With Negative Marking

  1. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)
  2. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1)
  3. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0)
  4. If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.

  2. Number of applications received 
  3. Overall performance of applicants in NEET 2021
  4. Category under which MBBS admission is sought
  5. Previous years’ NEET cut-off trends.

NEET Result 2022: Tie-Breaking Rule

In case two or more candidates obtain the same score, the merit position will be determined using the following tie-breaker criteria:

  • Candidates obtaining higher marks/ percentile score in Biology in the test, followed by
  • Candidate obtaining higher marks/ percentile score in Chemistry in the test, followed by
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test
  • The NTA this year has removed the provision of giving priority to a candidate older in age while preparing the NEET merit list.

  1. Visit the official website- neet.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on the 'NEET UG 2022 result' link
  3. Enter the log in credentials like application number and date of birth
  4. NEET result 2022 will be displayed on the screen
  5. Download the result PDF and take a print out for further use
