The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the extension of the online registration period for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) until March 16. Prospective candidates interested in the medical entrance exam can now submit their applications through the official website at exams.nta.ac.in.

Originally scheduled to close on March 09, the application window has been prolonged to March 16, 2024 (up to 10:50 PM), as per the official notice released by the testing agency. The extension aims to provide support to the student community seeking to participate in NEET (UG) - 2024.

NEET UG 2024 Exam Details

The National Testing Agency is set to conduct the NEET (UG) – 2024 on May 05, 2024, from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM, adopting the pen & paper (offline) mode. The exam will take place across the country and in 14 cities outside India.

How to Apply for NEET UG 2024

Follow these steps to complete the NEET UG 2024 registration process:

1. Visit the NTA NEET official website at neet.nta.nic.in
2. Click on the registration link for NEET UG 2024 on the homepage
3. Fill out the registration form and complete the registration process
4. Log into your account
5. Fill out the application form and submit the required fees
6. Download the confirmation page after submitting the application
7. Take a printout for future reference

Record-Breaking Applications

The registration for NEET UG 2024 has witnessed a significant increase, surpassing 25 lakh applications for the first time, marking a growth of 4.2 lakh compared to the previous year. The report indicates that over 13 lakh applications have been submitted by female candidates for approximately 2 lakh available seats, including 1.09 lakh MBBS seats, 26,000 dental seats, and seats in Unani, Homeopathy, Veterinary, Ayurveda, and nursing disciplines.

NEET UG 2024 Exam Pattern

The exam will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology), with 50 questions allocated to each subject in Sections A and B. The examination will last for 200 minutes (3 hours and 20 minutes), starting from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM. NEET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
