The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the NEET UG 2025 exam on May 4, and now, lakhs of medical aspirants are eagerly waiting for the results and cut-off scores. The provisional answer key is expected to be released in May, followed by the final key and results by June. The cut-off for NEET UG 2025 will be announced along with the result.
Last year, the qualifying percentile for General category candidates applying for MBBS and BDS was 50th percentile, while for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it was 40th percentile. This year too, NTA will calculate the percentile based on the highest scores obtained by candidates in the exam.
According to experts at Vidyamandir Classes, students can expect the qualifying scores to remain similar to previous years. Here's what they estimate:
-
For General category candidates, the qualifying marks may range from 720 to 162.
-
For OBC, SC, and ST categories, it could range between 161 and 127 marks.
However, these estimates may vary depending on the exam's difficulty level and the overall performance of candidates.
In 2024, the cut-off for the General category rose from 720-137 in 2023 to 720-162. A similar trend was observed for other reserved categories, with the cut-off for SC, ST, and OBC candidates rising from 136-107 to 161-127.
According to Nitin Vijay, Founder and CEO of Motion Education, this year’s question paper was tougher compared to the previous year. The paper had a total of 180 questions—45 each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 from Biology (Zoology + Botany). Given the increased difficulty, the cut-off for government medical colleges may drop by 40 to 50 marks compared to last year.
Physics Wallah also noted that based on student feedback and paper analysis, the NEET 2025 paper was not easy. Based on their analysis, the expected cut-off marks are as follows:
Category | Expected NEET 2025 Cut-Off (Marks) |
---|---|
General/EWS | 720 to 155 |
General-PH | 154 to 135 |
SC/OBC/ST | 154 to 125 |
SC/OBC-PH | 135 to 125 |
ST-PH | 135 to 125 |
According to Experts, the All India Quota (AIQ) cut-off is expected to fall between 530 and 560 marks, while for AIIMS Delhi, the cut-off might range from 660 to 670 marks. For General category candidates, qualifying marks are likely to fall between 130 and 150.
