NEET UG 2026: Aadhaar Verification Failed? Don't Panic — Follow These Steps

NEET UG 2026: Aadhaar Verification Failed? Don't Panic — Follow These Steps

The candidates appearing for the NEET UG re-test scheduled on June 21 will have to undergo Aadhaar biometric verification before entering the examination centers, as per the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The exam will be held between 2 pm and 5:15 pm. As the candidates enter the center, the first thing they will do is frisking and admit card verification. Before entering into the exam hall, candidates need to complete the entire registration process where biometric verification using UIDAI/Aadhaar will be mandatory.

The NTA has clarified that biometric verification is mandatory for the security purpose. However, candidates cannot be denied admission even if the verification process doesn't get completed because of certain reasons like hardware failure, poor quality of biometric data, server error of UIDAI or physically unable to give biometric data.

What Will Be Done If Biometric Verification Fails?

The NTA has informed the candidates that in case their biometric verification fails, the process will not stop there. Candidates have to fill and submit a written undertaking at the center. The form for such an undertaking will be available with the Centre Superintendent at the center.

As per the NTA, the biometric verification process will take place before starting the exam and if required after completing the examination. The NTA has assured the candidates that no biometric verification process will take place during the exam time, and hence students will not be interrupted during writing the paper.
