NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Tomorrow: Last-Minute Tips, Dress Code & Banned Items

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Tomorrow: Last-Minute Tips, Dress Code & Banned Items

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate 2026 (NEET UG) re-exam will be held on June 21. The test will run from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, with an extra 15 minutes for the verification process. Candidates can bring only a few selected items into the exam hall. Here are the key guidelines students should follow on exam day.

The NEET UG 2026 exam was first held on May 3. But it later came to light that the exam was compromised and the paper had leaked. The NTA has since put strict security measures in place to avoid any trouble during the June 21 re-exam.

NEET UG 2026: Dress Code

Candidates should follow this dress code while appearing for NEET UG 2026:

  • Light clothing is preferred. Candidates can wear heavy clothes and long sleeves if needed, but they'll have to reach the centre well in advance for proper checks and frisking.
  • Slippers and footwear with low heels are allowed. Those wearing high heels will need to go through extra checks.
  • Candidates wearing articles of faith — customary, cultural, or religious — should reach the centre early. This gives officials enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate, while keeping the exam's sanctity intact, as per an official NTA notice.

NEET UG 2026: Things Not to Carry

Candidates can't bring these items into the NEET exam hall:

  • Instruments
  • Geometry or pencil box
  • Handbag or purse
  • Any kind of paper, stationery, or written material, whether printed or handwritten
  • Eatables, loose or packed. Candidates with diabetes can carry items like sugar tablets, fruits (banana, apple, or orange), and transparent water bottles, but they must inform officials in advance. They still can't bring packed foods like chocolates, candies, or sandwiches.
  • Water containers other than a transparent water bottle.
  • Mobile phone, earphones, microphone, pager, calculator, docu pen, slide rules, log tables, camera, tape recorder, electronic watches with calculator features, any metallic item, or electronic gadgets and devices.
  • Accessories: Candidates shouldn't wear brooches, flowers, or badges. Avoid jewellery such as earrings, nose rings, pendants, and other ornamental items.
  • Other: Watches, bracelets, and any metallic items aren't allowed.

NEET UG 2026: Things to Carry

  • NEET UG admit card with a passport-size photograph affixed on it.
  • One passport-size photograph to affix on the attendance sheet.
  • Valid original identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or driving licence).
  • PwBD certificate (if applicable).
  • One postcard-sized (4"x6") colour photograph with a white background. Paste it on the proforma downloaded with the admit card and hand it to the invigilator at the centre.

Candidates should stay calm during the exam and focus on their preparation. They should also fill the OMR sheet carefully, since any mistake can cost them a few marks. It's best to reach the centre early to ensure smooth document verification and avoid any last-minute hassle.
