NEET UG Counselling 2023 : MCC Notice Permits Change of Nationality from Indian to NRI

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has recently released an important notice on its official website regarding the conversion of nationality from Indian to NRI status. Candidates who wish to switch their status to NRI and obtain NRI nationality can now apply by submitting their application along with the required documents to ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com. The application window for this conversion is open from July 19 (10 am) to July 21 (10 am).

Candidates are advised to ensure that all the necessary documents are enclosed in a single email within the given timeframe. This notice was issued by the MCC on July 17, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the specified guidelines.

Once the candidate's category is successfully converted from Indian to NRI, they will be treated as NRI throughout the remaining rounds of NEET counselling. However, it is important to note that after the conversion, candidates will no longer be eligible to avail benefits under categories such as Muslim minority quota, Jain minority quota, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or any other reserved quota.

By following the guidelines and submitting the necessary documents within the given timeframe, candidates can now proceed with the process of converting their nationality from Indian to NRI, ensuring their eligibility for the NRI category during NEET counselling.

NEET UG Counselling 2023: Documents required to be submitted

• Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (passport, visa of the sponsorer)
• Relationship of NRI with the candidate as per the court orders
• Affidavit from the sponsorer that he or she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized
• Embassy certificate of the sponsorer (certificate from the consulate)
• NEET score card of the candidate

In addition to submitting the necessary documents, medical aspirants seeking conversion from Indian to NRI category for NEET UG Counselling 2023 are also required to provide an undertaking. This undertaking confirms their application for the conversion of category and states that they have successfully cleared the NEET UG Examination 2023 and are eligible for the MCC NEET UG counselling process.
