The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to unveil the results and answer key for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) soon.
This year, the NEET UG 2024 exam took place nationwide on Sunday, May 5. A notable turnout of candidates participated, with 13,31,321 female candidates, 9,96,393 male candidates, and 17 transgender candidates. The NTA arranged over 4,750 exam centers spanning 571 cities, including 14 centers located outside India.

Last year, the NEET UG cut-off percentile for MBBS and BDS candidates in the general category was set at 50, while for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it stood at 40. The NTA will determine the NEET UG percentile based on the highest marks achieved in the all-India common merit list for NEET UG 2024.
In 2023, the NEET UG cut-off for the general category rose from 715-117 in 2022 to 720-137 in 2023. Similar trends were observed for other categories, with the cut-off for SC, ST, and OBC candidates increasing to 136-107 in 2023 from 116-93 in 2022.
Notably, there was a significant increase in the cut-off for physically handicapped candidates in 2023, rising from 116-105 in 2022 to 720-137. This increase was considerably higher compared to other categories.

The NEET UG exam assesses knowledge in three core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, which includes Botany and Zoology. Each subject is divided into two sections.
In Section A, there are 35 mandatory questions.
Section B presents 15 questions, but candidates are required to answer only 10 of them.
Last year, for the NEET UG 2023 exam, two candidates, Prabanjan J. from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh, shared the top rank with a perfect score of 720 marks.
