Re-NEET UG 2026 Result Date: Announcement Expected by July 20, Says NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has informed that the re-NEET UG 2026 result will be declared by July 20. As of now, the agency has not provided any specific date regarding the declaration of the re-NEET UG result 2026.
However, a senior NTA official revealed that the officials are trying their best to declare the re-NEET UG result 2026 at the earliest, ANI reported.
The official also assured students that the commencement of MBBS academic year will not be affected because of the delay caused due to the conduct of re-examination.
The re-NEET UG test was held on June 21 after the cancellation of the previous attempt which was conducted on May 3 on allegations of paper leak. Nearly 20 lakh candidates had appeared for the cancelled re-NEET UG examination.
"We would not like to give out any date as of now, but the result will be out by July 20. Normally, the results are announced within 45 days of the examination, but this time, as we have conducted the exam in 37 days, we will announce the results much earlier," the official stated.
The provisional answer key was published on June 25 and students could raise objections till June 28. The official said that there were nearly 10,000 challenges raised by the aspirants against the provisional answer key.
Now the agency is scrutinizing all the challenges before finalizing the result. "We need to scan all the challenges one by one, examine the evidence submitted along with it, and respond to each one of them," the official further stated.
The NTA has also clarified that even though the re-examination has been conducted by the agency, the academic session for MBBS will commence on time. However, the counselling schedule has yet to be published.
As soon as the NEET UG 2026 result 2026 is out, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will publish the counselling schedule which includes the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, central universities and deemed universities. Each of the States will issue its own counselling schedule for 85 per cent State quota seats.
During counselling, candidates will need to register online, make the payment of counselling fee, select preferred colleges and programs. Seats are allocated in accordance with the NEET UG ranking, preference, reservation policy and availability of the seats. The candidates who obtain a seat will be required to verify their documents at the college for admission.
The counselling procedure generally goes through various rounds which include Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Round prior to the commencement of the academic session.
In the meantime, some of the States have already initiated the preparation of admission procedures while waiting for NEET UG 2026 result 2026. Tamil Nadu is one of them.
