The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has launched the official website for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024. You can visit the website at iimcat.ac.in to find the notification and information brochure. These include the exam schedule, eligibility criteria, and other details for CAT 2024. The CAT 2024 exam will be on November 24.

This year, the CAT 2024 exam will be held in test centers across about 170 cities. Candidates can select up to five preferred test cities. The list of cities may change at the discretion of the CAT authorities. IIM Calcutta is managing CAT 2024.

The registration process for CAT 2024 will start at 10 am on August 1 and close at 3 pm on September 13.

CAT 2024: Exam Pattern

The CAT exam has three sections, each with a mandatory 40-minute time limit. Candidates can't switch between sections during the allotted time. Once the time for a section is over, they can move to the next section.

Section 1: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section 2: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Section 3: Quantitative Ability

Last year, the exam calendar was released on August 2, and the exam was held on November 26. A total of 3.28 lakh candidates registered, and approximately 2.88 lakh appeared for the exam.

The registration fee for CAT 2024 is Rs 2,500 for the general category, while students from SC, ST, and PwD categories are charged Rs 1,250.

The CAT exam is a gateway for candidates seeking postgraduate admission into various courses, including an MBA, at prestigious IIMs and other participating business schools. Last year, 91 non-IIM institutions also used CAT scores for admission into various management programs.
