CBSE 2025: Class 10, 12 Admission & Subject Change Deadline August 31

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the last date for direct admission and subject change of class 10th and 12th students for the academic session 2025-26.

According to CBSE, all schools have to complete this process by 31 August 2025. After this date, the application of any student will not be accepted.

This decision of CBSE has been taken with the aim of maintaining uniformity in the academic records of the students and completing the examination registration on time. Through this, schools will be helped to plan their academic program and resources better. Also, fairness and transparency will be maintained in the examination process and any kind of disturbance in the subject allocation and registration of students can be avoided.

Important Dates of CBSE

The board has released a clear timetable related to admission and subject change. The last date for direct admission and subject change has been fixed as 31 August 2025. After this, the schools will have to send all the records to their respective CBSE regional offices by 2 September 2025. At the same time, the regional offices will complete the review and approval of all admissions and subject changes by 15 September 2025.

Which students will get a chance after August 31?

Although no application will be considered after the last date in general, but in the event of transfer of parents working in government service, students have been allowed an exception. In such cases, students can get admission permission even after August 31. For this, it is necessary that all the documents are submitted to the concerned CBSE regional office within 2 days from the date of admission.

CBSE has appealed to all the students and parents to follow the prescribed deadline. If you are planning direct admission or subject change, contact your school immediately. Submit all the required forms and documents before the deadline and keep their copies safe for future. At the same time, parents who have been transferred in government service should directly contact the regional office.
