The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Class 10 and 12 private exam registration 2026 process. The eligible candidates can apply online through the portal cbseacademic.nic.in.

The last date for filling in the application form for CBSE private examination in 2026 without paying a late fee is 23 October 2026. The application forms with late fee will be accepted till 30 October 2026. As per CBSE, the CBSE private examinations in class 10 and class 12 will be held in February, March, and April 2027.

CBSE Class 12 Private Exam Registration Fee 2026

For Class 12, the examination fee is Rs 320 per subject. Candidates appearing from abroad need to pay Rs 2,200 per subject.

The process for registration in the CBSE private exam can be carried out using an online portal. Individuals should ensure that they visit the official website and fill in the necessary information and pay the exam fee. The procedure for the process is outlined below:

Who Can Apply for CBSE Private Exams 2026?

The Private exam centre facility provided by the CBSE can be accessed by those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria laid down by the Board. These include:

• The students classified as Essential Repeat in the CBSE 2026 exam results.
• The students classified as Compartment in the 2026 Main Exam who have not been declared Pass after the first attempt.
• The students who are declared as Fail/Essential Repeat in the year 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
• The students who clear the 2026 exam and are interested in improving their grades in one or more subjects.
• The students who clear the 2026 exam and want to write the additional subject.
• The female candidates who are genuine residents of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi who cleared Class 10 or equivalent exam of a recognized Board in 2026 or prior years. This facility is available only for 2026 exam.
• The candidates with special needs who are genuine residents of the NCT of Delhi who cleared Class 10 or equivalent exam of a recognized Board, provided there is adequate proof that they face difficulty in attending classes.

It is mandatory on the part of the candidates to submit their applications before the stipulated time frame to ensure that they do not have to pay any penalty for the late submission of the application.
