CBSE has given schools a chance to fix mistakes in student details for the 2025 board exams. This correction window started on April 9 and will stay open till April 17, 2025.
Many schools made mistakes while filling student data, even after CBSE gave clear instructions. Later, schools asked CBSE to allow changes. So, the board opened this correction window.
Correction Fee Details
As per the notice, CBSE will charge a processing fee of ₹1,000 per candidate for each correction. Schools need to deposit the amount at their respective regional CBSE offices.
What Can Be Changed?
CBSE has listed the details that schools can correct:
- Swap between mother’s and father’s names
- Fix errors in student’s photo
- Correct date of birth (with proper documents)
- Update if the student is a single child
- Fix gender details
🔴 Important: Only small changes are allowed in the parents' names. Big changes or full name changes will not be accepted.
No Change in Category
CBSE also said that schools cannot change the student’s category, like from General to OBC or any other.
Final Advice for Schools
CBSE has told schools to check all student details carefully before sending them. This correction window is a one-time chance to fix mistakes. Wrong details can affect a student’s result and documents.
