CHSE Odisha 2026 Big Update: Board Improvement Exam Introduced for Plus 2 Students; Check Full Details
In a major update for Plus 2 students in Odisha, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has introduced an improvement examination facility. Students appearing for the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) will now get a chance to reappear in one subject if they want to improve their marks.
The CHSE examination committee approved this decision in a meeting held on Monday. This new facility will be implemented from the current academic year itself.
What Is the CHSE Improvement Exam?
According to Prashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examination at CHSE, if a student wants to improve their score in one particular subject — for whatever reason — they'll be allowed to reappear in that subject through the improvement exam.
However, there's an important condition. Only students who've already passed the AHSE will be eligible for the improvement exam. Students who've failed won't be covered under this facility.
When Will the Improvement Exam Be Conducted?
The Plus 2 improvement exam will be conducted simultaneously with the instant examination (supplementary exams) that are held every year after the completion of AHSE. This means students won't have to wait for a separate exam window.
The results of the improvement examination will be declared within two months of the exam.
