CLAT 2027 Exam Date Out: Exam on December 6; Registration Begins August 3

The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced the CLAT 2027 exam date. The Common Law Admission Test will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Online application process for CLAT 2027 would start from August 3, 2026. Applications would remain open till October 31, 2026.

This has been notified officially. The decision to conduct CLAT 2027 has been taken after discussion in meetings of the Consortium's Executive Committee and Governing Body held on July 18, 2026.

It has also been clarified that there would not be any change in the syllabus, pattern, paper sections, etc., of CLAT 2027.

The CLAT 2027 Convenors and paper setters would take into consideration the recommendations of CLAT Expert Committee which suggest that the quality and format of the questions could be improved wherever possible.

CLAT Expert Committee Report 2026 has been evaluated in the annual meeting of the Governing Body of the Consortium held on July 18, 2026.

Consortium has decided to release the report on its website in order to obtain feedbacks. Experts from law, students and general people can share their views using an online feedback form available until August 31, 2026.

Feedback would be considered for further discussion and changes in CLAT 2028.

During a meeting held in National Judicial Academy at Bhopal on May 17, 2026, it has been decided that the Office of the Chief Justice of India would constitute a committee to review the recommendations.

Consortium's Governing Body would work in collaboration with this committee. It would also take into account public feedback to prepare proposals for CLAT 2028.

Details of CLAT 2027 examination procedure, eligibility criteria, application fee and other related information would be communicated later.

CLAT is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes offered by participating National Law Universities across India.

CLAT scores are also accepted by several private law colleges and affiliated institutions for admission to their law courses.
