GATE 2025 Exam Dates Announced: IIT Roorkee to Conduct Tests on Feb 1, 2, 15, 16

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the exam dates for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. The exam will take place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
GATE 2025 will be a computer-based test (CBT) covering 30 test papers. The exams will be held in both forenoon and afternoon sessions. The application portal is expected to open in the last week of August 2024, according to IIT Roorkee.
The GATE 2025 test papers will be in English only. Candidates can choose to appear for one or two test papers from the allowed combinations. The GATE score will remain valid for three years from the result announcement date.
IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute for GATE 2025. The exam is jointly conducted by IISc and seven IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Candidates who qualify GATE can apply for admission with possible financial assistance to master's programs and direct doctoral programs in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. GATE scores are also valid for doctoral programs in related fields in institutions supported by MoE and other government agencies.
Additionally, some colleges and institutions use GATE scores for admission to postgraduate programs without MoE scholarships. Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also use GATE scores for recruitment.
