The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has updated the registration date for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 to August 28. Candidates interested in applying for the GATE 2025 exam can register through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The registration process without a late fee will close on September 26, 2024.
The final registration with a late fee will end on October 7. Previously, the registration window was set to open on August 24.
According to the schedule, the GATE 2025 exam will be held in two sessions on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
The GATE exam is conducted for admission to Masters in Technology (MTech) and direct PhD programs at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other universities across India. Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and State Electricity Boards (SEBs) also consider GATE scores for recruiting trainee engineers and scientists in group C-level posts.
Regarding the GATE 2025 application fee, candidates need to pay the fee to complete their registration. The fee is Rs 900 for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and female candidates. For all other candidates, the fee is Rs 1,800. The application fee must be paid online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
