The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the official exam date and registration schedule for JEE Advanced 2026. The exam will be held on May 17, 2026, in computer-based test (CBT) mode at designated centres across India.

IIT Roorkee will open the registration window for foreign students on April 6 and for Indian students on April 23, 2026. The last date to register is May 2, 2026. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website jeeadv.ac.in.

JEE Advanced 2026 Admit Card

JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted on a single day in two sessions. Paper 1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Paper 2 will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Both papers will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi, making it accessible to a wider range of students.

JEE Advanced 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Here are the key eligibility conditions candidates must fulfill to appear for JEE Advanced 2026:

1. JEE Main 2026 Performance Only candidates who rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) are eligible to register for JEE Advanced. This rule applies to all candidates, irrespective of category.

2. Number of Attempts A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times. Both attempts must be in two consecutive years.

3. Class 12 Qualification Candidates must have appeared for Class 12 (or equivalent) for the first time in 2025 or 2026. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects.

4. Previous IIT Admission Candidates who've previously been admitted to any IIT aren't eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026.
