IIT Delhi and IIT Madras followed IIT Bombay. IIT Delhi accounted for 18 of the top 100 rankers, while IIT Madras had 11. Together, these three IITs accounted for 97 of the top 100 rankers, showing their strong preference among candidates with the highest JEE Advanced ranks.

IIT Bombay, Delhi and Madras Among Top Choices

The preference pattern was different among the top 25 JEE Advanced 2026 rankers. Eight candidates each joined IIT Delhi and IIT Madras, while six chose IIT Bombay. The remaining candidates were allotted seats at other IITs.

The admission data suggests that students consider several factors while choosing an IIT. These include their JEE Advanced rank, preferred branch and seat availability during counselling. Highly sought-after programmes such as Computer Science and Engineering can also influence the final choice.

IIT Madras Zone Leads in Top 100 Rankers
