JEE Main 2025 : CSAB Launches Exclusive Counselling Round for Northeast Students

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct a special counselling round for Northeastern JEE Main 2025 students who did not get a seat in earlier JoSAA or CSAB rounds. The board has also introduced the CSAB-NEUT round, which offers seats in AICTE-approved colleges for students from Northeastern states and Union Territories.

Helping Students in the Northeast

CSAB wants to help students in the Northeast by encouraging them to register for JEE Main 2025. Registration for Session 2 opens on January 31 and closes on February 24. Students can check eligibility and important details on the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in).

Reserved Seats for Northeastern Students

There are about 2,000 seats reserved for Northeastern students in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs under the state quota. Another 740 seats are available across India for students from these regions under the NEUT category.

Colleges in the NIT+ System

The NIT+ system includes 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, three Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and 37 GFTIs. Some top colleges in the Northeast are:

• NITs: Agartala, Silchar, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram
• IIITs: Guwahati, Agartala, Manipur
• GFTIs: Tezpur University, Mizoram University, Assam University (Silchar), North-Eastern Hill University

• Main Courses: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science Engineering
• Modern Fields: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, and Energy Engineering

Simple Counselling Process

Students who pass JEE Main 2025 can take part in counselling on csab.nic.in or josaa.nic.in. The process includes registration, document checks, choosing preferences, and seat allotment.

JoSAA 2025 is managed by IIT Kanpur and NIT Rourkela, while CSAB 2025 is led by NIT Rourkela. Following the steps carefully ensures students don’t miss a chance to join these top colleges.
