The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the JEE Main 2026 application correction window on February 27 for Session 2. Candidates who've made errors in their submitted JEE Main application form can edit and modify the details by February 28 (11:50 PM). All changes must be done through the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

This correction window is available for two categories of candidates. First, those who've applied as fresh candidates for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Second, those who had already applied for Session 1 and have also registered for Session 2.

JEE Main 2026 Application Correction for Existing Candidates

Existing candidates are those who registered during the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 application period between October 31 and November 27, 2025, and have also applied for Session 2 from February 1 to February 25, 2026.

These candidates will be allowed to edit or modify the following fields in their application forms:

  • Course (Paper)
  • Medium of the Question Paper
  • State Code of Eligibility
  • Choice of Examination Cities
  • Educational Qualification Details (Class 10 & 12)
  • Gender
  • Category
  • Fee Payment (if applicable)
  • Identity Details (only if registered using an ID other than Aadhaar)

It's important to note that corrections in these fields will only be allowed after paying an additional correction fee, wherever applicable.

JEE Main 2026 Application Correction for New Candidates

New candidates are those who applied only for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 during the registration window from February 1 to February 25, 2026. For these candidates, certain restrictions and allowances apply to the JEE Main application correction process.

Fields That Can't Be Changed:

New candidates won't be allowed to modify key contact and identification details. These include mobile number, email address, permanent and present address, emergency contact details, and the live or uploaded photograph.

Fields That Can Be Modified:

  • Candidate's Name / Father's Name / Mother's Name
  • Educational Qualification Details (Class 10 & 12)
  • State Code of Eligibility
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Category / Sub-Category / PwD Status (if not verified via UDID Portal)
  • Signature
  • Paper Opted For
  • Examination City & Medium (based on address changes)
  • Identity Details (only if registered using an ID other than Aadhaar)

What Happens After the Correction Window Closes?

Once the JEE Main 2026 application correction window closes, NTA will release the advance city intimation slip. This will be followed by the JEE Main Session 2 admit cards. These documents will contain important details like exam date, shift timing, and the allotted city and centre.

Candidates should verify all the details carefully and plan their travel arrangements well in advance, especially if they've been allotted an out-station centre.
