The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 provisional answer key on February 4, 2026. Along with the answer key, NTA has also uploaded the question papers and recorded response sheets on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their answers and raise objections if they find any discrepancies.

Candidates can raise objections until February 6, 2026, at 11:50 PM by paying ₹200 per question. The challenge fee can be paid via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Results are expected by February 12, 2026.

NTA conducted the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2026, for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech). Paper 2A (B.Arch) and Paper 2B (B.Planning) were held on January 29, 2026. The exam took place at 642 centers located in 311 cities across India and 15 cities outside the country.
JEE Main 2026 Answer Key Challenge Window
NTA has opened the objection window for candidates who want to challenge the provisional answer key. The challenge window is open from February 4 to February 6, 2026. Candidates must submit their objections before 11:50 PM on February 6, 2026. No challenges will be accepted after this deadline.
To raise an objection, candidates need to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question. Payment can be made through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. NTA won't accept challenges without fee payment, and no other payment mode is allowed.

How to Raise Objection Against JEE Main 2026 Answer Key
Follow these steps to challenge the provisional answer key:
Step 1: Visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in
Step 2: Click on "Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key" link
Step 3: Log in using your Application Number and Password
Step 4: Enter the Captcha Code and click Submit
Step 5: Click on "Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key" again
Step 6: You'll see Question IDs in sequential order for JEE Main 2026 Session 1
Step 7: The ID next to each question under "Correct Option" shows NTA's answer
Step 8: Select the Question ID(s) you want to challenge by clicking the checkbox
Step 9: Upload supporting documents in a single PDF file using "Choose File and Upload"
Step 10: For Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry questions, scroll down and click "Save your claim"
Step 11: Review all the Option IDs you've challenged
Step 12: Click on "Save your claim and Pay Fee finally"
Step 13: Select payment mode and pay ₹200 per question through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking

Documents Required to Raise Objection
Candidates must upload supporting documents to justify their challenge. Here's what you need:
- Supporting proof or reference material in PDF format
- All documents must be combined in a single PDF file
- The PDF should clearly explain why the NTA answer is incorrect
- Include relevant textbook references or official sources if possible
Important Points About Answer Key Challenge
- Only paid challenges will be considered by NTA
- The processing fee of ₹200 per question is non-refundable
- Challenges without fee payment won't be entertained
- The last date to submit objections is February 6, 2026, at 11:50 PM
- No extension will be given for the challenge window
What Happens After You Submit a Challenge?
Once the objection window closes, NTA's subject experts will review all submitted challenges. If any challenge is found correct, NTA will revise the answer key. The revised final answer key will be used to calculate results for all candidates.
NTA won't inform individual candidates about the acceptance or rejection of their challenges. The keys finalized by experts after reviewing all challenges will be considered final. Based on this final answer key, NTA will prepare and declare the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results.
