What to check in the JEE Main scorecard?
After downloading the JEE Main Session 1 result 2026, carefully check the following details in the scorecard:
- Name and roll number
- Individual NTA percentile scores for Physics, Chemistry, and Math
- Total percentile
- Category-wise cut-off (General/OBC/SC/ST).
When Will Cut-Off and All India Rank Come Out?
Not yet. NTA has confirmed that Session-1 results won't include cut-off marks or All India Rank (AIR). These will only be released after Session-2 is completed.
The JEE Main Session-2 exam is scheduled for April 2026. Once both sessions wrap up, NTA will combine the scores and release the final merit list with AIR and qualifying cut-offs.
Marks vs Percentile — How Does NTA Calculate Scores?
NTA doesn't rank students based solely on their raw scores. It converts raw scores into percentile scores using a normalization process.
Your percentile tells you what percentage of the total candidates you scored better than. For example, a 99 percentile means you performed better than 99% of all students who took the exam.
Because JEE Main is conducted in multiple shifts with varying difficulty levels, normalization ensures that no one is disadvantaged by a difficult paper.
