Shift 2 will start at 03:00 PM and end at 06:00 PM. Candidates will have to show their JEE Main 2025 Session 1 admit card to enter the JEE Main 2025 exam centre for the shift 2 exam. Additionally, candidates will have to bring a government-issued photo identity card and a passport-sized photograph. Proper adherence to these entry requirements is necessary to attend the exam.
Paper 1 for BE/BTech candidates in JEE Main 2025 will be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29. Paper 2A and 2B for BArch and BPlan candidates are scheduled on January 30, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

As per the initial reaction of the candidates after the JEE Main 28 Jan shift 1 exam:
- Maths was lengthy and tough
- Physics was difficult. The questions were very lengthy and no direct questions were asked.
- Chemistry was easy to moderate and NCERT-based
- Overall the exam in shift 1 was Difficult.
- Candidates are saying that this is the most difficult shift of the JEE Main 2025 Jan session until now.
- In Maths, many questions came from topics like: Vector and 3D, Special Sequence, Area under the Curve, Differential Equations, Matrices, Probability
- In Chemistry, many questions came from topics like: Salt, periodic table, ionisation energy comparison
- In Physics, many questions came from topics like: Rotation, Moment of Inertia, Modern Physics, Resistance, Semi-conductor, Fluid Mechanics, Potential, Cector, Electricity, Carnot Engine
