Karnataka School Reopening for classes 6th to 8th in September

Karnataka Government has decided to reopen the schools in State, after reviewing the COVID-19 situations. The date to reopen the schools in the state is September 6, 2021 with 50% attendance. However, Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh said that the classes from 6th to 8th will resume in talukas with COVID-19 positivity rate below 2%.
The classes will be conducted 5 days a week with 50 per cent attendance. The decision to reopen the schools has been taken after a decision between the experts panel and the government officials.
Guidelines Issued By Government
- The face masks will be mandatory for all.
- Frequent sanitation is also mandatory. It will be carried out by the schools.
- Attending offline classes is not mandatory, students can choose to study by online methods.
- Offline and Online classes will run simultaneously.
It is noted that this decision was taken by the 13 members of the advisory council. They had the responsibility to study the COVID-19 conditions in the state and then suggest whether schools should be open or not. The panel suggested reopening the schools in a phased manner.
