KSEAB to Hold Karnataka Class 5, 8 Annual Exam From 2023; New Guidelines Issued; Check Details
The Karnataka government has announced withdrawal of no-detention policy for Class 5 and Class 8 students of the state. From this year on, Karnataka Classes 5 and 8 annual examinations will be conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB), the official statement said.
As per the detention policy, students of Class 5 and Class 8 will not be promoted if they fail to pass the annual examination. Along with the new guidelines for the upcoming annual exams, the officials have also announced exam dates and schedule.
The state government informed that the formative assessments (FA 1 and FA 2) and summative assessment (SA-1) have been completed for Karnataka Class 5 and 8. The SA 2 will be held as per the schedule announced by the board.
Karnataka Class 5, 8 Exam Dates 2023
KSEAB has been assigned the responsibility for conducting and declaring the Karnataka Class 5 and 8 exam results from 2023. Karnataka Class 5 and 8 annual exams 2023 will be held from March 9 to 17, 2023. Answer papers will be evaluated between March 21 to 28, 2023. And, the results of the annual exams are likely to be declared between April 8 to 10 if the preparation of results conclude by April 5, 2023.
As per the guidelines, the registration for annual exams will be done by the school head masters. The exams for both the classes will be held for 2 hours for a total of 50 marks. KSEAB will prepare the model question papers and is expected to distribute them to the schools before January second week.
The official notice stated that there will be a regular examination for Class 5 and Class 6 at the end of every academic year. If a student fails in exams, he/she will be given a chance to appear in the supplementary exam, which will be held after the declaration of the annual exam.
