The CET cell has announced that a re-exam will be held for the Sunday morning slot of MHT-CET 2025. The decision was taken after 21 serious errors were found in the Mathematics section of the English medium question paper. The new exam date will be informed to the affected candidates soon.

Errors in MHT-CET 2025 Paper: Reason for Re-exam

24,744 students of the PCM group had solved the flawed paper, which was one of the 16 sessions. The errors were only in the Mathematics section, which carries 2 marks per question. It carries twice the weightage as compared to Physics and Chemistry, which could have had a major impact on scores and ranks. The authorities took immediate action.

MHT-CET 2025: Re-exam updates and action

MHT-CET is the premier exam for admission to engineering, pharmacy and agriculture in colleges in Maharashtra. 7.64 lakh students registered this year. After the error, the CET cell has said that the re-exam date will be announced soon. Action will be taken against the responsible teachers. Steps are being taken to maintain the fairness of the exam.

MHT-CET 2025: Exam Pattern and Latest Updates

The paper for PCM group in MHT-CET 2025 is divided into three parts:

Paper I: Mathematics (100 marks)

Paper II: Physics + Chemistry (100 marks)

MHT-CET 2025 will be computer-based. Each question in Mathematics carries 2 marks, while each question in Physics and Chemistry carries 1 mark. The exam is of total 180 minutes and there is no negative marking. 7.64 lakh students registered this year.

The re-exam has been announced due to the error in the Mathematics section. The CET cell has assured to maintain fairness and action will be taken against the culprits. New dates will be released soon.
