When Will NEET Counselling Start 2024?

The NEET 2024 test is scheduled for May 5, and the results will be announced on June 14, 2024. Consequently, NEET counselling 2024 will start on July 1, 2024, and will include multiple rounds. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), will conduct NEET counselling for 1,09,015 MBBS and 27,868 BDS seats across India. Additionally, around 1,000 BSc Nursing seats will be allocated through MCC NEET counselling.

NEET Counselling 2024 Last Date

The MCC NEET AIQ counselling process 2024 will be divided into several rounds: round 1, round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy. NEET Counselling Registration Process

The NEET (UG) counselling process for 2024 includes the following steps:

Step 1: Complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.

Step 2: Fill out and lock the NEET 2024 counselling choices.

Step 3: Round 1 seat allocation and results announcement.

Step 4: Report to the assigned Medical/Dental College (option for free entry/exit).

Step 5: Announcement of net empty spots for round 2.

Step 6: NEET counselling round 2 registration (not required for already registered applicants) and new choice filling for NEET counselling round 2.

Step 7: Second round of seat allocation (option to leave with forfeiture of security amount available).

Step 8: Report to medical/dental colleges/institutions for round 2 (candidates assigned a seat cannot quit it).

NEET Counselling Security Fee Refund

The NEET counselling security fee refund will be initiated by the authorities at the end of the counselling process. If candidates are allotted seats during the NEET counselling 2024 procedure, the security deposit will be transferred to their respective institutions and adjusted against the annual fees. If no seats are allocated, the amount will be refunded to the same account used during registration. Therefore, candidates should keep their bank account and card active until the refund process is complete.

NEET UG Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the NEET counselling 2024 process, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:

• Candidates must have passed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
• They must be registered on the MCC’s official website.
• AIQ counselling for Deemed Universities will be available to all NEET-qualified students.
• All candidates, including those from the J&K UT, are eligible to participate in AIQ and Deemed University counselling.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling for Central Universities

Delhi University (MAMC, LHMC, UCMS): 15% of seats in Delhi University-affiliated colleges. Candidates who completed Class 11 and Class 12 at a Delhi-based institute are eligible for these 85% seats.

Jamia Millia Islamia University: The institute has 50 BDS seats, with 47 filled through MCC NEET counselling and three covered by an institutional quota. Only candidates who completed Class 11 and Class 12 at JMI institutes are eligible for institutional quota seats.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU): The institute reserves 50% of its seats. The remaining 50% will be filled through NEET MCC counselling. Candidates who attended AMU for the last three years are eligible for the institutional quota.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU): 15% of seats are open. All applicants who meet the basic qualifying criteria for NEET MCC counselling are eligible to apply for seats at BHU.

NEET Counselling Rounds 2024

MCC offers four rounds of NEET counselling for All India Quota seats:

AIQ Seat Reservation

The Government of India has introduced reservations for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS categories in the All India Quota (AIQ) seats for MBBS/BDS. This reservation applies to the selection of applicants through NEET UG counselling.
