NEET UG 2026 Leak: Use Air Force for Papers, Shiv Sena Leader Tells NTA - Check Full Details
Sanjay Raut has criticised the Centre following reports of Indian Air Force being utilised to transport NEET UG question papers. In an apparent reaction to this decision, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader has termed it as another instance of "governance failure".
In an X post, the Rajya Sabha MP noted that the armed forces were meant to guard the country's border and not "to cover up the incompetence of NTA and the Education Ministry". According to him, after the lakhs of aspirants' dreams were shattered due to NEET paper leak, the government wants the Air Force to transport the question papers.
He stated that while on one hand, NEET papers have been leaked repeatedly, the authorities concerned have failed to fix the problem. Instead of making efforts to fix things and punishing the guilty people, the Centre is looking to use the military as a "temporary band-aid". As per him, why does Defence Minister Rajnath Singh need to attend meetings with the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to deal with basic exam logistics?
Sanjay Raut has further demanded that strict action be taken against the guilty parties. In addition to this, he also sought genuine reforms for bringing transparency to the NEET process.
Government Exploring IAF Option for NEET Re-Exam
As per official sources, the Centre is exploring the possibility of IAF transporting the question papers to ensure foolproof conduct of the re-exam of NEET UG on June 21. The plan was discussed during a high-level meeting attended by Rajnath Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
So far, no decision has been taken in this regard. The proposal will be put up to PM Modi for his nod.
