Revised NCERT Books for Classes 10 and 12 Being Prepared, Education Minister Confirms

NCERT Textbook Update: According to Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi, the NCERT is working on updated textbooks for Classes 10 to 12 on a mission mode basis. This information was given by him at the 66th Foundation Day celebration of the NCERT.

Updated NCERT books for Classes 1 to 9 as per the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF) have been published. However, textbooks for the senior secondary level of education, which includes Classes 10 to 12, are being prepared now.

The Education Minister remarked that the NCERT plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education and equipping students with skills essential for the future.

He also spoke about the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in daily life. Noting that AI usage is rising among young students, he emphasized the need to incorporate topics into school textbooks and curricula that help students understand and use AI responsibly.

According to Joshi, the NEP 2020 has been devised according to the needs of education and the requirements for the future developments. It was further mentioned that the parents must acquaint themselves with the changing digital world so that they can assist their children.

While talking about the growing number of elderly people in various countries, the Minister referred to the young population of India as a very strong point for the country. The Minister said that not only would the human resource of India help in the development of the country but would also assist in the development of the world.

The new NCERT books of classes 10 to 12 would be published after the completion of the process of preparation of the books.
