On Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, The center decided to cancel the class 12th board exam this year. And the states have appreciated the decision of cancellation. They said it was needed for the safety of students and teachers

States Reactions on Class 12th Board Exam Cancellation
Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet A big relief has come. His tweet was “I am glad 12th exams have been cancelled. All of us were very worried abt the health of our children. A big relief”
Maharashtra
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also expressed his gratitude towards the prime minister for his decision on the cancellation of class 12th board exam. A statement issued by the state's communications department of Maharashtra said.
Punjab
Punjab's education minister Vijay Inder Singla appreciated the decision. He said the decision was in the right direction but the Union government should hold a meeting to discuss the future of students.
He also lamented that the center didn’t mention the condition of declaring the result for the board exam or for taking admission in higher classes.
UP
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said it was an important decision taken towards the safety of students.
In a tweet he mentioned “Respected prime minister has taken the decision to cancel the class 12th board examination due to the surge in COVID. This decision is taken to ensure the health and safety of students across the country. On behalf of all the students and parents, heartfelt thanks to you the respected Prime Minister” ( Tweet was in Hindi)
Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said the decision about the Class 12 exams of the UP Secondary Board would soon be taken after a meeting with the chief minister
Haryana
The Haryana Government has also decided to cancel the board exam, Education minister Kanwar Pal said.
"We have also decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams in the state which were to be conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education," Mr Pal told PTI over phone.
Reactions of Other Parties Leaders
Leaders of other parties and congress had also pressured the center earlier to cancel the class 12th board exam.
After hearing the decision of 12th exam cancellation, the congress said “We are glad Modi government finally heeded to the demands of the Indian people, Shri Rahul Gandhi, Smt Priyanka Gandhi and the Congress party, to prioritise the safety and health of our students,”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted “Congratulations, students of class 12 for making your voices heard. After all the uncertainty and stress, you deserve to relax and celebrate today! All the best for a happy, healthy and bright future ahead.”
BSP chief Mayawati tweeted “Keeping the health and safety of children in mind during the corona pandemic in the country, BSP welcomes today's decision taken by the central government to cancel the Class 12 exam of the CBSE board. It was the need of the hour” (Tweet was in Hindi)
