The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025 has updated its exam pattern, shortening the test to three hours. You can view the new schedule on the official website, xatonline.in. These changes are intended to make the exam easier to manage and better match the skills needed for management and leadership.
Here’s what’s different:
-
Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): AEW will now be part of the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) stages, not the XAT exam itself.
-
General Knowledge Section Changes: This section will now have 20 questions instead of 25. It will include 12 questions on current events and 8 questions on general knowledge.
-
Exam Timings: The XAT 2025 will have two parts. Part One will be 170 minutes, and Part Two, which is for General Knowledge, will be 10 minutes. The total exam time is 180 minutes.
These updates are designed to keep XAT a useful tool for evaluating candidates for management programs.

In the GK section, 08 questions will focus on static GK, while the remaining 12 will delve into current affairs. |
Here’s a simplified overview of the changes for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025:
-
General Knowledge (GK) Score: XLRI Jamshedpur will use the score from the General Knowledge section exclusively for its final selection process.
-
Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This year, AEW will be part of the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) stages, not the XAT exam itself.
-
Exam Date: The XAT 2025 will be held on January 5, 2025.
