After delaying the release date, the online Application form for the JEE Main has begun today by the National Testing Agency. The NTA has not said any reason for the postponed. There, however, is no change in the other schedule, but the examination pattern for JEE Main changes.

The last date of Application form as of now is September 30 – which can be extended further to ensure students get as many days to apply for the examination. Since there is more time for applicants, they can in the meanwhile, get their documents ready. The date of conducting the examination also remains 6 to 11 January 2019. Among a huge update, the NTA has changed the exam pattern by reducing the questions per subject, and also adding numerical-based questions as well as introducing a completely new exam for admission to B.Plan.

The JEE Main Application form will start from 11 am today i.e September 3. Before starting the registration link active, the National Testing Agency has revised the exam pattern of JEE Main 2020. So now, instead of two examinations — one for admission to B.Arch and other for B.Tech, there will be one more examination for admission to B.Plan. The B.Plan, as per the NTA has been approved by the JEE Apex Board.

The number of questions to be examined in the exam has been reduced from 30 to 25 and out of the 25 questions, while 20 will be based on multiple-type questions, a total of 5 questions will be examined in numerical type. There will be equal weightage to maths, physics and chemistry. Every question will be for four marks and for objective type questions, one mark will be subtracted for every wrong answer while for numerical type questions there will be no negative marking scheme. Aptitude exam will be of 200 marks. In the drawing test for B.Arch which was 100 marks used to have three questions and will now have only 2 questions.

National Testing Agency will issue JEE Main 2020 application form tentatively on 02 September 2019, for January session. The last date to fill the application form for JEE Main 2020 is the last week of September 2019. JEE Main application process begins with registration followed by login, uploading the photograph, signature, documents and finally payment of application fee. The login details of JEE Main 2020 application form will be made after the registration is completed. While filling the JEE Main application form 2020, the students will have to give valid personal, academic and communication information as well as valid photo ID. Payment of JEE Main fee can be done online through (credit card, debit card and net banking) and offline through SBI e-challan. After the application process is completed, a confirmation page is created to be printed by students. JEE Main 2020 registration process for the April session will start tentatively in the second week of February 2020.

Things to Keep Ready Before Filling JEE Main Application Form 2020

There are several things which the students are advised to keep ready before filling the JEE Main 2020 application form. This will allow the students to have a smooth registration process for JEE Main and will have less chance of mistakes.

How to Fill JEE Main 2020 Application Form?

The JEE Main 2020 application form for January session will be available tentatively from September 2, 2019, while for the April session, it will be accessible tentatively in the second week of February 2020. Students must register before they can fill the JEE Main application form. The following steps can be checked to understand how to fill the application form of JEE Main 2020.

1. JEE Main Registration: This is the primary step in the JEE Main application process. The registration link will be active on our website. Students will have to enter the following details to fill the JEE Main application form 2020:

•     State of Eligibility
•     Students Name
•     Identification Type 
•     Identification ID

•     Date of Birth
•     Gender
•     Security Pin

Note: For the April session, students who had applied for JEE Main 2020 January session will be capable to use the same credentials for registration.

2. Filling of Application Form of JEE Main: After successful registration, students can move to process the JEE Main application form 2020. The following details have to be submitted by students:

• Examination Related Details: Students will have to select their choice of paper such as JEE Main Paper 1, Paper 2 or both. The preferred choice of language like English, Hindi, Gujarati for the examination must also be selected.
• Personal Information: Next, the students will have to give personal details such as name, name of mother and father, category, a person with a disability or not etc.
• Academic Details: Students will have to provide information about their performance in 10th and 12th class qualifying examination including pass percentage, school details, roll numbers, if applicable.
• Communication Information: Details about the student's address has to be given. The details have to match with the information in the Aadhaar card.
• Guardian Details: Information about the student's guardian/parents such as their annual income, occupation, qualification and more has to be given.
• Selection of Exam Centres: Four cities have to be selected by the students in the order of preference. from the provided list of exam centres.

JEE Main 2020 Exam Centres:

Students must select four cities in the order of their choice. While National Testing Agency will strive to allot the first chosen examination centre, the remaining exam centres of JEE Main 2020 are for standby in case the centre is not available. Students must note that the exact address of the examination centre will not be given in the JEE Main 2020 application. The address will be provided only on the JEE Main admit card. How to Generate Strong Password for JEE Main 2020 Registration?

The listed conditions have to be fulfilled to create a strong password for the several login purposes of the examination:

• The password should be 8 to 13 characters
• In the password, there should be at least one lower alphabet, one upper alphabet and one numeric value
• In the password, there should be one special character in the password such as !@#$%^&*_
• After selecting their password, students will have to review their filled JEE Main 2020 application form and submit it. It should be remembered that the password has to be kept safe since it will be needed for future login purposes.

3. Uploading of Scanned Documents: After reviewing the application form, students will have to upload the needed documents. Scanned images of the student's photograph with signature as per the mentioned specifications have to be uploaded and saved. To upload the documents, the students will have to click on the “Upload Scanned Images” tab.

4. Payment of Application Fee: Next, the students will have to pay the requisite JEE Main application fees as per their category  and payment can be done in two methods: 

• Online: Net banking | Credit Card | Debit Card
• Offline: SBI E-challan

How to Pay JEE Main 2020 Application Fee through E-Challan?

• Firstly, the students will have to print out the e-challan from the SBI page. An A4 size print out has to be used which will consist of the bank reference number and details of the students.
• Within 12 hours of taking the print out of the e-challan, the students will have to visit any branch of State Bank of India and deposit the fees in cash.
• After the payment, the CBS system of SBI will update the payment status as successful.
• The payment status will be updated by SBI Banking only if the payment has been done within the prescribed time period.
• Reprinting of the e-challan can be done by the students through SBI website under the tab SBI MOPS. The required details have to be taken out for reprinting.

5. Print out of Acknowledgement Page - Finally, the students will have to print out the confirmation page for future use. It should be noted that four printouts should be taken by the students.

How to Check JEE Main 2020 Application Status?

How to Check JEE Main 2020 Fee Payment Status?

A printout of the confirmation page can be taken only if the payment status shows “OK”. However, if the payment status has not been confirmed, then the students will have to follow the given steps:

• For Offline Payment through E-challan - If the payment status is not confirmed, then the students will have to contact the concerned SBI branch for payment updation.
• For Online Payment - Students will have to pay the fee again since it indicates that the earlier payment was not successful. The earlier paid fees will be refunded within seven days.

How to Retrieve JEE Main Password?

•     Students must go to the JEE Main students login window
•     Then click on "I can't access my account" button.
•     Next, click on "I forgot my password" option.
•     They will have three options to recover JEE Main 2020 password
•     Using Security Question & Answer chosen during JEE Main registration.
•     Using a verification code sent via SMS to the student's registered mobile number.
•     Using a reset link sent via email to the student's registered Email address.
•     Students must opt for any one of the above and follow the provided instructions to retrieve their JEE Main password.

How to retrieve JEE Main Application Number?

•     Click on “I cannot access my account?”
•     Next, the students will have to click on “I forgot my JEE Main application form number” button.
•     Information such as name, date of birth, state of eligibility, mother’s name, father's name and security pin has to be given.
•     The application number will be provided to the students if all correct information is submitted.

Filling JEE Main 2020 Application Form at Common Service Centres

NTA will facilitate Common Service Centres to help students who have no internet access to fill their JEE Main application form. Nominal fees as provided below will be charged for the services given. Students can complete their JEE Main registration and fill the application form at the Common Service Centres. 

How to do JEE Main Application Form Correction?

The facility for the JEE Main 2020 application form correction will be available from the second week of October 2019. During the correction period of JEE Main application form, students will be able to edit details such as personal details, category, name, paper, state of eligibility etc. JEE Main image correction facility will also be free. Payment of additional fees has to be done for correction in some fields.

•     Click on the application correction web link which will be activated in the website.
•     Fill the JEE Main application number, password and security code.
•     Edit and correct the important details.
•     Click on “Submit”

After the application process of JEE Main 2020 closes, NTA opens the JEE Main 2020 Application Form Correction window. The window opens for a period of around 1 week or so. The students are permitted to update certain information in the application form and not all the details are available for editing.

To do any updations in the application form te students have to log in using their application number and password/date of birth. There is a certain fee that is applicable to some of the changes in the JEE Main 2020 application form.

After the JEE Main 2020 registration and application process is completed, the admit card of JEE Main 2020 will be published. Only those students who complete their registration process will be capable to access the admit card of JEE Main 2020 which is an essential document to present at the examination centre. Those students who don't have the admit card will not be permitted to attempt the examination.
