CBSE 12th Result 2026: Re-Evaluation Dates Out, OSM Defended, Apply Online

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a clarification amid growing concerns over the Class 12 evaluation process this year. With the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system in place, several students and parents have raised questions on social media about the marks awarded.

In response, CBSE has firmly defended the OSM system. The Board said it's designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency in evaluation. At the same time, CBSE has asked students who aren't satisfied with their scores to apply for re-evaluation through the official process.

  • The complete application and payment process is online only.
  • Fees can only be paid through credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  • Only one application is allowed for each step.
  • Once submitted, applications are final. No second chance will be given.
  • If marks change after re-evaluation (either increase or decrease), students will have to return the original marksheet. CBSE will then issue a new Mark Statement cum Certificate.

CBSE Defends On-Screen Marking System

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), CBSE responded to the criticism that emerged following the declaration of Class 12 results. Questions regarding the evaluation methodology were raised in numerous social media posts, particularly concerning subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.

What Students Should Do Next

If you are satisfied with your CBSE Class 12 results for 2026, you may proceed with college admissions and career planning. However, if you feel that your marks do not reflect the hard work you put in, the re-evaluation process offers you an opportunity to have your answer sheet reviewed again.

Please ensure that you apply within the stipulated dates, as the CBSE will not accept applications received after the deadline.
