The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made changes in the post-result process. Now students can get photocopies of their answer sheets before verification or re-evaluation. The move will increase transparency and help students understand their marks and decide for re-evaluation accordingly. The board has advised students to apply on time.
In the current system students first apply for verification of marks, followed by photocopies of answer sheets and then re-evaluation of their results. In the new system, the post-result activities will be in this order-
1. Getting photocopies of evaluated answer sheets – Students will be able to see their copies first.
2. Verification of marks/re-evaluation or both - After viewing the answer sheet, students will be able to apply for verification or re-evaluation.
This change ensures greater transparency and clarity for students.
The new system will provide students an opportunity to view their answer sheets before re-evaluation or verification, CBSE said in a notification. This will provide better clarity to students about the marks awarded, examiners' comments and possible errors, thereby increasing transparency and reducing the number of unnecessary objections.
"After receiving the photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet in the first stage, the candidate can decide whether to opt for verification of marks, which includes posting/totalling of marks or any unevaluated question or re-evaluation, wherein the candidate requests re-evaluation of a question or questions. The candidate can apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation or both as per the prescribed procedure after receiving the photocopy of the answer sheet," CBSE said.
The board said that the detailed procedure for obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer sheets, verification of marks and re-evaluation will be shared after the declaration of class 10th and 12th results.
CBSE has not confirmed the date and time of class 10 and 12 board exam results, 2025. Both results are expected on the same day.
