CUET UG 2026 May 30 Important Update: NTA Delays Exam at Some Centres, Shift 2 Begins at 4 PM - NTA Issues Notice

According to NTA’s statement released via their social media pages, the CUET UG exam conducted on Saturday, 30th May 2026 was affected by the delayed start because of a technical glitch faced by the exam provider, TCS.

The NTA has assured candidates that the issue has now been resolved. The exam is being conducted with full compensatory time, so no student will be at a disadvantage.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the National Testing Agency stated:

"M/s TCS has reported that a technical glitch at their end delayed the commencement of CUET (UG) 2026 at some centres on 30.05.2026. The issue has since been resolved, and the exam is being conducted with full compensatory time so that no candidate is disadvantaged."

The agency has also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to students and parents due to the disruption.

Updated Information For The Morning Slot

The candidates appearing for the morning slot of CUET UG 2026, held on May 30, can attempt the complete question paper without any problems. According to NTA, the candidates can exit from the exam hall only when they have attempted the complete question paper.

This information makes sure that there is no wastage of time due to such a technical issue. Time has been allotted as compensation for the time lost in the beginning of the exam.

Afternoon Shift Updated Information

• Time for entering the exam hall: Candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall from 2:30 PM
• Time of starting the exam: 4:00 PM (3:00 PM, according to the updated information)
• Total duration of exam: Complete time of paper provided
• Candidates appearing in the afternoon session must reach the centre well before 2:30 PM. They should carry their admit card, valid photo ID proof, and other required documents.
