DU Admission 2026: List of Colleges and Courses Offering Admission Based on Class 12 Marks

In the admission for the academic year 2026-27, the University of Delhi has permitted some colleges to commence the admission procedure based on the marks obtained by the students in Class 12 examinations rather than the CUET-UG results. The admission process will be held on the basis of merit, if the candidates meet the criteria of the particular course.

As per the notice, the list of courses included under the admission process on the basis of Class 12 examination includes BA (Hons.) Courses like Hindi, Sanskrit, Persian, Urdu, Punjabi, Geography, History, Political Science, Hindi Journalism and Social Work. The list further includes BSc (Hons.) Courses like Physics, Mathematics, and Home Science. Also, BCom and BCom (Hons.) Courses are enlisted in the list.

Besides these, admissions will also be provided to various BA Programme Courses like History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Hindi, Economics, Mathematics, Geography, Music, Philosophy, Sociology, Community Science, Computer Applications, Psychology, and Education.

Also, there are certain BSc Programme Courses that have been mentioned in the notice which include Physical Science with Chemistry/ Electronics, Applied Physical Science with Industrial Chemistry, and Physical Science with Computer Science/ Informatics Practices.

There is a list of DU colleges as mentioned in the notice which includes Kalindi College, Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening), Lakshmibai College, Rajdhani College, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, and many other colleges.

DU Colleges Accepting Class 12 Marks for Admission 2026

On the other hand, a discussion on a Facebook group known as “DU Teachers”, believed to comprise members of Delhi University teachers, pointed out that the new admission policy had caused concerns for some of its members. One of the members called the introduction of CUET admissions a large-scale experiment that troubled many applicants.

It should be noted that the addition of BA Programme course combinations that consist of Political Science, History, Economics and Sanskrit is important since those are among the most sought-after courses by DU aspirants.

Yet, the announcement is not an indication that the entire DU undergraduate admission process will switch back to a Class 12 mark-based admission policy. This merit-based admission process will work only for the mentioned courses and colleges. In addition, it will concern only applicants that did not take admission to any Delhi University college yet.

In general, the admissions to Delhi University undergraduate courses are done using Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). This test was introduced in 2022. Prior to that, admissions were conducted on the basis of marks scored in Class 12 examinations.
