The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 paper-wise schedule today, November 17, 2025.
Candidates can check the official exam schedule on the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates can start preparing for the exams.
The exams are scheduled over two weekends in February: February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.

GATE 2026: Understanding the Shifts
The exam takes place in two shifts each day. It's important to know the exact clock timings so you can plan your travel and sleep schedule accordingly.

Forenoon Session (FN): This is the morning shift. It starts at 9:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm.

Afternoon Session (AN): This shift begins at 2:30 pm and finishes at 5:30 pm.

GATE 2026 Exam Pattern
Candidates who are planning to appear for the GATE 2026 exam should ensure that they are familiar with the GATE question paper pattern. The GATE exam consists of 65 questions based on General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and core Engineering subjects. A total of 3 hours is allotted for the GATE exam. The GATE exam shall consist of multiple-choice questions, multiple-select questions, and numerical answer-type questions. Check the following table to know about the GATE exam pattern.
