GATE 2027 Registration Ends October 5: Check Eligibility, Fees and Apply Link
The deadline for applying for GATE 2027 would be October 5, 2026. Candidates, who are not done with filling the application form, can fill in the form before the extended date of application. GATE 2027 is being organised online, through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). It is being organised by IIT Madras, for GATE 2027.
GATE 2027 application process started on September 2, 2026. Regular deadline for registering was September 27, whereas the extended deadline for GATE 2027 is October 5, 2026. Candidates can make changes in their application from October 14 to October 21, 2026.
Indian candidates have to use DigiLocker for applying to GATE 2027. Candidates should retain the DigiLocker account even after the submission of the application form and payment of fee, as future communication could be linked to the DigiLocker account. GATE 2027 Exam and Result Date
The GATE 2027 examination will be conducted on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027. The exam will be held in multiple sessions on these dates. The GATE 2027 result is scheduled to be announced on March 19, 2027.

GATE 2027 Eligibility Criteria
GATE 2027 eligibility criteria do not only comprise engineering and technology programs. Those candidates who are in their third year or above in an undergraduate program, or have completed an approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities, can take the test.
There is no age bar for GATE 2027. In addition to that, there is no limit on attempts. Those candidates who are pursuing or have pursued higher education programs are also eligible to appear for the test if they satisfy all eligibility criteria.
The programs which are included in eligibility are BTech/BE, BArch, BSc, BA, BCom, BCA, Integrated Programs and many others. The students of the third year or above of three-year BSc, BA and BCom programs are also eligible for the test.
GATE 2027: Steps to Apply
The following are the steps that candidates need to take while filling out the GATE 2027 application form:
- Candidates need to visit the GATE 2027 application portal and register on GOAPS.
- DigiLocker registration needs to be completed by Indian nationals.
- Personal, contact, and identification information needs to be filled in correctly.
- Academic information needs to be filled in correctly as per educational records.
- Choose GATE 2027 exam paper. Candidates can either opt for one paper or two papers from the allowed combinations.
- Preferred examination cities need to be chosen from the provided options.
- Photograph, signature, and applicable certificates need to be uploaded in the prescribed format.
- Review and verify the application form along with personal, academic, and examination information.
- Pay the respective GATE 2027 application fee online using online payment modes.
- Submit the application form and obtain the application and payment confirmation.
